“Go forward with a twinkle in your eye, a smile on your face, but with great and strong purpose in your heart” Gordon B. Hinckley
“The eyes are the mirror of the soul” Paulo Coelho
How often have you thought about the health of your eyes? Having a twinkle in your eye can equate to a healthy person that is living a full life. With homeopathy we work to achieve the best physical, mental and emotional health. I like to think of the twinkle in the eye as an important sign of health on all three levels.
Physically keeping our eyes healthy might not be something we think of until we run into problems in old age. Hormonal changes, stress, nutrition, and eyestrain can affect us quietly and weaken our eyes. Proper nutrition is essential for eye health. The muscles of the eyes are the most active muscles in the body, they continue to work through the night while we sleep. The retina is one of the highest consumers of oxygen in the body per gram of tissue.
With the increased use of computers and phones, eyestrain, weak vision, and dry eyes, have become common. According to research by the Mayo Clinic*, surgeries for cataracts are increasing in all age groups. Regular eye exams are necessary and can help a person know if they have developed early signs of cataract or other issues. Many eye problems like glaucoma and retinal changes can also be related to serious health problems or injuries.
There are three ways we can address eye health using homeopathy. One is by using a constitutional remedy which will also benefit other underlying health issues that could contribute to eye problems. Another is to address acute conditions, such as infections, injuries, and irritations. The third way is to work preventatively using cell salts and/or care for underlying conditions that can lead to deterioration of the eyes.
Homeopathy can be of great benefit to people that are wanting to improve their eye health. In my class, Healthy Aging with Cell Salts we will be learning about some preventative and useful remedies for the eyes that can be used at home. Sign up for my email list and I will let you know of my schedule for classes starting in January 2026. If you have eye issues that you would like to address more specifically I recommend making an appointment for a free consultation. We can decide which type of appointment is more appropriate for you.
